Purpose

The Education & Training Committee translates EBHO’s mission into learning, skills and capacity across Europe. We build and oversee programmes that strengthen professional competency, foster early-career development, and raise public understanding of brain health. Our remit covers accredited courses, hands-on workshops, clinical masterclasses, summer schools, mentored cohorts, fellowships and open public webinars — with special attention to regions and communities with limited access to training resources.

Terms of Reference

The Committee reports to the Executive Committee and acts as EBHO’s authoritative body on education policy and practice. Its responsibilities include: defining strategic education priorities; reviewing and approving course curricula and quality standards; awarding education and training grants; advising on modern pedagogies and digital learning technologies; and ensuring that activities reflect EBHO’s values of integrity, inclusivity, excellence and sustainability.

Core Activities

  • Design and run flagship programmes (annual summer school, clinical masterclasses, mentored cohorts) that combine practical training with translational science and policy skills.
  • Organise short courses, modular workshops and online micro-credentials to address workforce needs across research, clinical care and community services.
  • Develop open educational resources (lectures, toolkits, case studies) that promote reproducible science and wide accessibility.
  • Support public engagement training so scientists and clinicians can communicate brain health evidence clearly to patients, carers and policymakers.
