Purpose

The Conference Committee supports EBHO’s mission by enabling high-quality scientific meetings, symposia and focused workshops that accelerate discovery, foster cross-disciplinary exchange, and translate brain-health research into practice. We prioritise events that build networks across countries and sectors, create opportunities for early-career researchers, and connect science with clinicians, patients and policymakers.

What we support

The Committee provides competitive support for: standalone small-to-medium conferences on specialised brain-health topics; EBHO-branded symposia embedded within larger scientific meetings; satellite workshops and regional meetings that expand capacity in under-represented areas; and hybrid or virtual events that maximise accessibility. Support can include seed funding, in-kind promotion, help with programme development, and coordination with EBHO’s Travel Grants to increase participation from low-resource settings.

Application and selection

Calls for proposals and application guidelines are published on the EBHO website; applications are assessed by the Committee against transparent criteria including scientific excellence, interdisciplinarity, capacity-building impact, geographic and gender balance, inclusion of early-career investigators, patient and public involvement where appropriate, and environmental sustainability. Successful organisers are required to acknowledge EBHO branding, comply with financial reporting requirements, and submit a brief post-event impact report.
